Letter: Ways to avoid pregnancy

By Valerie Atwood, Ridgefield

The real question is not about abortion, but whether a woman wants to get pregnant or not. If the answer is no, then she should have access to and intelligence to use any or all of the contraceptives on the market. The pill, IUDs, condoms, spermicides, under-the-skin devices that prevent pregnancy for five freaking years! There’s also abstinence and tubal ligation. Even if a woman does get pregnant, no one says you have to keep it. Give it to one of the million of couples unable to conceive. It’s nine months of your life, but it’s a lifetime to another person.
