A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision with an SUV late Wednesday night on Grantham Road north of Fargher Lake and west of Amboy.

According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, North County EMS and Clark County Fire District 10 responded to a report of an injury collision about 10:30 p.m. in the 16700 block of N.E. Grantham Road.

An investigation determined a motorcyclist was westbound on Grantham Road when the rider crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming 2016 Ford Expedition, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. The driver of the Ford was not injured. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is investigating the collision; excessive speed is believed to be a factor.

The identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
