Five new firefighters and paramedics are in training at Clark County Fire District 3, thanks to voter approval of a recent levy. Three are new positions, and two will replace retiring employees.
Call volumes increased 12.6 percent last year in the district, which serves Hockinson, Brush Prairie, Heisson, Venersborg and Battle Ground.
