Prep highlights: Stalcup’s homer lifts Evergreen softball

Nae Stalcup hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Evergreen softball team to an 8-7 win over Union on Friday.

Evergreen rallied for single runs in the bottom of fifth and sixth to get within 7-6. McKayla White opened the bottom of the seventh with a double, then Stalcup followed with the game-winning home run.

Stalcup finished 2 for 3. Kadence Burleson belted a home run for Evergreen.

Ashley Griffith went 3 for 4 with a home run, and Kamryn Buck went 3 for 4 with two doubles for Union.

  • Walker Laddusaw, Hudson’s Bay baseball, singled home Alex Haloulos-Younts in the bottom of the 11th to send the Eagles to a 4-3 win over Columbia River.
  • AJ Domingos, Hockinson baseball, singled home the tying run in the bottom of the eighth, then scored the winning run on an error in a 6-5 win over Washougal.
  • Ethan Hubbell, Camas baseball, threw seven innings, giving up no earned runs and striking out six in a 7-2 win over Tumwater.
  • Reed Fry, Ridgefield baseball, went 4 for 4 with two RBI in a 9-2 win over Woodland.
  • Maddie Milhorn, Skyview softball, struck out 15 over seven innings pitched and hit two home runs and drove in seven in a 10-1 win over Heritage.
  • Easton Marshall, Kelso baseball, went 2 for 2 with an RBI in a 7-3 win over Prairie
  • Reece Walling, Prairie baseball, went 2 for 2 with a double and two walks in a 7-3 loss to Kelso.
  • Rylee Wall, Prairie softball, went 3 for 4 with two runs scored and double and pitched 3.2 innings to earn the win in a 7-5 win over Kelso.
  • Cady Gruenberg, Battle Ground softball, threw seven shutout innings and struck out 12 in a 5-0 win over Camas.
  • Austin Lindquist, Mark Morris baseball, pitched six perfect innings, striking out 14 of the 18 batters he faced in a 14-0 win over Fort Vancouver.
  • Andrew Peru, King’s Way Christian baseball, went 3 for 4 with two home runs and four RBI in an 18-4 win over Adna.
  • Destiny Scott, Fort Vancouver softball, went 5 for 6 with three runs and a double in a doubleheader against Columbia-White Salmon.
