Camas’ Jacinda Lee, Union’s Jade Gruher lead 4A district golf after first round

Mountain View's Annika Yeh leads by 22 shots in 3A district

Camas’ Jacinda Lee and Union’s Jade Gruher are set for a second-round showdown Tuesday for the 4A district girls golf championship after both posted stellar rounds in the first round Monday.

Lee shot a 2-under-par 70 and holds a one-shot lead over Gruher after Monday’s first round at Three Rivers Golf Course in Kelso.

Camas holds the lead in the team standings after six Camas golfers held down the top seven spots on Monday. Jasmine Chen and Callie Wengler both shot 77s. Ella Kim and Susannah Gillespie shots 84s and Julia Strandemo shots a 96.

In the 3A district tournament at Three Rivers, Mountain View’s Annika Yeh is running away with the 3A title. After a first-round 76, Yeh holds a 22-stroke lead over teammate Kahlia Holmes at 98. Dakotah Leach of Heritage and Kennedy Higgins of Prairie follow at 101.

Mountain View leads the team standings over Prairie 389-476.
