The first national call to prayer was in 1775 by the Continental Congress, asking the colonies to pray to God for wisdom in forming a nation. Now, 247 years later, we need to pray for godly wisdom to remain being a nation as it seems our government is on the verge of being torn apart.
First, we need to thank God for all of His blessings, for the blessing of living in the most blessed country in the world, where we all have the rights to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
Pray that God would give our government leaders the wisdom to lead our government in accordance with His will so we can all still enjoy those liberties, and live in peace and love with each other in spite of our differences of opinions. Pray for our military people, all of our first-responders, including our police, firefighters, ambulance personnel, doctors, nurses, and all health care workers, our schoolteachers, and all of our government employees, and everyone that serves us in any way, and their families. Pray that God will bring a quick end to the war in Ukraine and all other wars, of which there are many throughout the world.
