Letter: All children deserve chance at life

Abortion is a controversial topic at the forefront of headlines in our country and on every politician’s mind in the United States right now. In 1973, the Roe v. Wade decision was handed down, proclaiming that a state cannot be unduly restrictive when it comes to abortion.

According to the American Civil Liberties Union, “26 states are poised to ban abortion if Roe v. Wade is overturned.” This potential overturn goes against a woman’s freedom that she has been granted by the 14th Amendment. Why does it make any sense to take away that freedom from a woman especially if the child had been unintentionally conceived?

Personally, I am pro-life, but I do see the perspective of pro-choicers. I do feel for everyone who has gone through horrible situations and gotten pregnant. However, a child is still a child and I think that all kids, even unborn ones, should get a chance to have a life.
