Battle Ground hosts Memorial Day ceremony

By , Columbian staff writer

A Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Battle Ground Veterans Memorial. The event honors members of the U.S. Armed Forces who lost their lives in service to our country. The memorial is at Kiwanis Park, 422 S.W. Second Ave., in Battle Ground.

A list of 31 names adorning the wall of the memorial will be remembered with a reading of their names.

“These brave individuals are an important part of our community and our history. On behalf of the city council, it is our honor to commemorate their valor during this year’s ceremony,” Mayor Philip Johnson said in a press release Thursday.
