Letter: Representatives don’t provide help

Recently the House of Representatives passed the Infant Formula Supplemental Appropriations Act. This money will pay for additional Food and Drug Administration inspection of formula at domestic and foreign suppliers, prevent fraudulent products from getting on store shelves and improve data collection on the infant formula marketplace.

Our two reps (Jaime Herrera Beutler and Cathy McMorris Rodgers) complained, in public of course, that the Biden Administration is doing nothing for this issue; then (wait for it ) they voted against the bill. You either do want help for this issue, or you don’t. Which is it, “representatives”?

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
