The city of Vancouver and Odyssey World seek volunteers for the Juneteeth celebration on June 17. Interested volunteers must attend one of two orientation meet-and-greets from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., June 4 or 11. Snacks will be provided at each orientation. For more information, visit https://www.juneteenthfreedomcelebration.com/volunteers.

The Vancouver Walking Club, with the city of Vancouver, needs volunteers to maintain a section of the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail from Devine Road eastward to Northeast 98th Avenue from 9 a.m. to noon June 2. Volunteers should meet in the parking lot of Parkrose Hardware, 8000 E. Mill Plain Blvd. to sign in and register. Volunteers will then be assigned to go to one of the Burnt Bridge Creek trailheads to begin cleaning. Dress for the weather and bring work gloves, protective eye gear and sunscreen. Buckets and trash pickers will be provided for those who don’t have them. The group meets on the first Thursday of the month in February, May through September, and November.
