Letter: More parking is needed

By Kay Laing, Vancouver
Published: May 31, 2022, 6:00am

This letter is in response to Terry McCann’s letter “No battleships in Vancouver” (Our Readers’ Views, May 26).

I couldn’t agree more with his observations. My parents also worked at the Kaiser shipyards and it was interesting to read how many ships were built in Vancouver, but never battleships. My thoughts in reading about this new apartment building was also where will people park? Seventy-three apartment units will likely need at least one space or two for working families. How does the city not see this as a big problem with only 33 spaces available?

Vancouver will only be considered a vibrant community as long as it is accessible; why live downtown when parking is so difficult to find?
