The 34th annual Lough Legacy Veterans Parade will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, 612 East Reserve St., Vancouver.

The parade, which celebrates the service and sacrifice of local veterans, takes place rain or shine. It concludes at 1 p.m.

This year, the event has attracted 75 entries with approximately 2,000 people marching or riding in the parade. Participants include veterans’ service organizations from all service branches, high school marching bands, college and high school ROTC groups, youth groups, equestrian units, and military and civilian vehicle collector clubs.

The parade is made possible through a donation from Frank and Joanne Lough in partnership with the city of Vancouver and The Historic Trust. CVTV will broadcast the parade.

The parade starts at the east end of Officers Row at East Reserve Street and Evergreen Boulevard. The route continues around the Fort Vancouver National Site, ending on Fifth Street near the Pearson Air Museum. See a map of the parade route at thehistorictrust.org.

Free public parking is available at Clark Public Utilities (1200 Fort Vancouver Way) and VITA Elementary (1111 Fort Vancouver Way). You may also park at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, at the corner of East Fifth and Fort Vancouver Way, but you must enter before 10 a.m.
