Letter: Replace ads with positive stories

By Paul Quimby, Vancouver
Published: November 6, 2022, 6:00am

The overwhelming amount of negative political ads on your TV, computer and phone needs to stop. Here is a possible solution for our soon-to-be reelected auditor, Greg Kimsey, to consider. When you vote early, a QR code can be sent to your phone. When you activate it, all annoying ads will be muted or deleted, thus saving an early failure of the mute button on your remote. In place of the negative ads, you can opt to see positive stories from local charities, Share House, St. Vincent de Paul and so many other programs in our city making a difference.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
