In the Nov. 15 Columbian, the editorial “In Our View: Perez’s message clarion call for both parties” couldn’t have been more correct. Both here in our district and across the nation, politicians who support Trump’s big lie about the 2020 election find themselves on the losing end of their races. Moderate Republicans, or if you prefer, sane Republicans, are likely a huge factor in all of this. Perhaps there is hope for our nation if sane people regain control of the Republican Party from Trump and his flunkies like Joe Kent.
And Democrats, most of the populace is not aligned with the far-left wing of your party, but are much more interested in supporting a moderate/sane candidate like Marie Perez.
And speaking of Kent, despite his assurances that he will accept the outcome of the election regardless of the outcome, if I were a Vegas odds maker, I’d put the chances of him actually doing so at about 1,000 to 1. He’s busy trying to win via ballot curing as I type this, and the calls that the election was rigged/not legitimate cannot be far behind, can they? After all, he’s been operating out of the Trump playbook since his campaign started.
Prove me wrong Joe. Accept your defeat gracefully.
