Vancouver Main Street project open house is Nov. 30

Share your thoughts on Vancouver’s long-awaited face-lift to its Main Street corridor.

The city of Vancouver will host an informational open house with preliminary designs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in the Vancouver Community Library’s Columbia Room, 901 C St. Project staff will be available to answer questions at the event.

The Main Street Promise Project focuses on revamping the roadway, sidewalks and outdoor spaces from Fifth to 15th streets along the corridor — a continuance of a larger plan to improve the core of downtown Vancouver, which began in 1993. Construction is to begin at the end of 2023 or early 2024 following design completion and further public outreach.

This open house is the first in a series to update the public on the Main Street project’s design phase. Staff will also be available to answer questions at the Vancouver Downtown Association’s First Friday event from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 2 at 811 Main St.
