Letter: Put pressure on D.C. leaders

Instead of people complaining about Govs. Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis sending 50 people to Martha’s Vineyard and two busloads near Vice President Kamala Harris’ residence, we need to face the elephant in the room. Since President Joe Biden took office there have been hundreds of thousands of people entering. U.S. Customs and Border Protection can’t keep up with the influx, and the problems land on those border states. Crime and drug use has increased tremendously, all while the White House has said everything is under control.

Recently, a reporter went to the border, took pictures and reported it to the public. Now D.C. has their knickers in a knot. We the people need to write to our congressmen, senators, president and vice president en masse and have them face the problems and make changes. They will do nothing unless they are pressured.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
