Skyview defense dominates Kentwood 41-7


Skyview dominated on defense, holding Kentwood to 107 total yards on the way to a 41-7 rout in a non-league football game on Friday night at Kiggins Bowl.

The Storm (5-1) allowed Kentwood (1-5) across midfield for just one play in the first half, holding the Conquerors to eight yards from scrimmage in the first two quarters.

Skyview blew the game open in the second quarter, with running back Trey Jacob scoring two touchdowns in three minutes and quarterback Jake Kennedy adding both a running and passing touchdown on the next two possessions.

Kennedy finished with 140 yards passing, including two touchdown passes to Gavin Packer, who finished with 80 yards receiving. Jacob had a game-high 69 yards on the ground.

Kentwood scored late, Antoine Lee escaping a tackle in the backfield and sprinting to the pylon for a 30-yard touchdown to get on the board. Lee finished with 65 yards rushing.
