Letter: Examine support for ranked choice

By Sandy Schilaty, Vancouver

Voters, please do your research on nonprofit FairVote Washington that’s pushing ranked-choice voting. Branches all over the country are pushing this in cities and counties. Your votes are redistributed after Election Day behind the scenes and in some cases, manually. That does not instill confidence in our election system. The organizer of the local group was a fellow on Obama’s campaign. A co-founder is policy director at More Equitable Democracy, an intermediary that works at the intersection of racial equity and structural democracy reform. Nonpartisan issue? I think not.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
