Letter: Perez is sensible, moderate

The 3rd District has a tradition of electing moderate representatives since 1999, with Brian Baird and Jaime Herrera Beutler. After watching the debate, I thought Joe Kent came off as arrogant, condescending, with highly partisan talking points and belief in a number of conspiracies. Kent is in the mold of radicals like Josh Hawley, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Lauren Boebert.

I felt Marie Perez, while not as polished as Kent, was thoughtful, moderate, and independent without extremist talking points. She is not an AOC, a Bernie Sanders, or an Elizabeth Warren. I believe Perez would be a sensible moderate representative for our district.
