Letter: Kent is bereft of honesty

The Columbian was correct to observe that Joe Kent’s recent attempts to present himself as moderate smell fishy. But writing “we have no idea what Joe Kent believes” is misleading. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt, when there is any doubt. But it’s clear that Mr. Kent knows exactly what he believes. He believes it’s OK to say anything — whether he means it or not — so long as he wins. Mr. Kent is not “bereft of convictions.” He appears to be bereft of honesty, and therefore cannot be trusted. The honest candidate is Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, who has my vote.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
