Friday marks the end of league play for high school football in Southwest Washington.

There are nine games scheduled to be played in Clark County on Friday, and all nine could potentially have some bearing on which teams advance to the postseason or could influence playoff seeding.

And that’s the way you’d like to see a season end.

So let’s break down the list of leagues, from all three Greater St. Helens League plus the 1A Trico League, and see what teams are playing for during Week 9 of the 2022 season.

4A Greater St. Helens League

Camas (5-3, 2-0) has clinched a Week 10 playoff berth. Seeding for the 22-team westside 4A quad-district playoffs will be determined by committee on Sunday.

The winner of Friday’s game between Skyview (6-2, 1-1) and Union (3-5, 1-1) will receive the 4A GSHL’s second playoff berth. Seeding will be determined by committee.

Battle Ground (2-6, 0-2) is eliminated from postseason contention.

3A Greater St. Helens League

Kelso (5-2, 3-0) has clinched a Week 10 playoff berth. Seeding into the 32-team statewide state preliminary round will be determined by committee.

Evergreen (6-2, 2-1) will clinch the league’s other playoff berth with a win over Kelso or a Prairie loss to Heritage.

Prairie (5-3, 1-2) can force a three-way tiebreaker for second playoff spot with a win over Heritage and Evergreen loss to Kelso.

Mountain View (4-4, 2-2) finishes the regular season with a non-league game at Richland. The Thunder will be part of a three-way tiebreaker for second playoff spot with a Prairie win and an Evergreen loss.

Heritage (0-8, 0-3) is eliminated from postseason contention.

2A Greater St. Helens League

Washougal (7-1, 6-0) has clinched the No. 1 seed and will host a Week 10 district playoff.

Mark Morris (7-1, 5-1) has clinched the No. 2 seed and will host a Week 10 district playoff.

Ridgefield (4-4, 4-2) has clinched a Week 10 playoff berth. The Spudders will be the No. 3 seed if they beat Woodland.

Woodland (4-4, 3-3) will clinch the No. 3 seed to the Week 10 playoffs with a win over Ridgefield. The Beavers will clinch the No. 4 seed with a Hudson’s Bay loss to Columbia River.

Hudson’s Bay (3-5, 2-4) will clinch the No. 4 seed to the Week 10 playoffs with a win over Columbia River, a Woodland loss to Ridgefield and a Hockinson loss to Washougal.

Hockinson (3-5, 2-4) can only reach the postseason through a three-team tiebreaker for the No. 4 seed created by a win over Washougal, a Woodland loss to Ridgefield and a Hudson’s Bay win over Columbia River.

Columbia River (3-5, 2-4) and R.A. Long (0-8, 0-6) are eliminated from postseason contention.

1A Trico League

Castle Rock (7-1, 4-0) and La Center (7-1, 3-0) have both clinched Week 10 playoff berths. The winner of this week’s Castle Rock-La Center game will be the No. 1 seed; the loser will be the No. 2 seed. Both teams will host Week 10 district playoffs.

King’s Way Christian (4-3, 2-2) and Seton Catholic (4-4, 2-2) have both clinched Week 10 playoff berths. The winner of this week’s King’s Way Christian-Seton Catholic game will be the No. 3 seed; the loser will be the No. 4 seed.

Fort Vancouver (2-6, 0-3) and Columbia-White Salmon (0-8, 0-4) are eliminated from postseason contention.
