The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board on Thursday issued an emergency suspension for Sunny Market at 3303 Minnehaha St., Suite A, in Vancouver for reported violations of state and federal laws.

According to a press release Friday, the store had five public safety violations for selling age-restricted products to minors including cigarettes, vape products and alcohol since December 2021.

“There have been numerous officer contacts where education has been provided to the licensee and/or his employees, however, compliance with age verification is poor,” board spokesperson Brian Smith said in the release.

Additionally, the board received nine complaints since March 2022 from multiple sources alleging sales of alcohol, tobacco and vape products to minors.

The store will be prohibited from selling tobacco, vape or alcohol products for 180 days while the board seeks to permanently revoke the business’s license.
