When Shonna Roberts first opened Omnis Ink about a month ago, she posted in a few different online groups about the services she offers, including scar camouflage for self-harm scars.

While she received many responses thanking her for starting the conversation about self-harm, many people told her they were not ready or did not want to cover their own scars — in large part due to the emotional pain attached, Roberts said.
