Mountain View missed a 27-yard field goal attempt as time expired, sending Class 1A Nooksack Valley to a 15-14 upset win.

Mountain View took a 14-7 lead on Porter Drake’s 2-yard touchdown run with 3:27 to play.

But then Colton Lenz broke free for an 85-yard touchdown run with 3:08 left, cutting the Thunder’s lead to 14-13.

Nooksack originally came out to kick the PAT, but when Mountain View was flagged for being offside, the Pioneers attempted to go for two. Quarterback Joseph Brown took it in for a 15-14 lead.

Mountain View drove downfield and had a first-and-goal at the Nooksack 9 with 38 seconds to play. But two runs and one incomplete pass could get the Thunder no closer, and they came out to attempt the field goal, which sailed wide left.
