Letter: Support Perez for Congress

By James Patterson, Vancouver
Published: September 10, 2022, 6:00am

It is unfortunate that Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is not better known. She is smart, sensible, a small-business person well aware of the problems of regular people. As an independent voter, I find her common sense refreshing. I believe she would represent our district with special distinction. She also favors allowing women to make their own choices.

Her opponent represents all the reasons our Republican Party needs to recover from Trump, as many conservative voters agree. People are subjected to a deluge of misinformation designed to arouse anger and fear and keep them coming back for more.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
