Letter: Beware of rolling blackouts

I want to address the ongoing rolling blackouts in the West. What the officials won’t acknowledge is that the problem is not the weather. I suspect the problem is the number of customers.

Here in Clark County alone we have thousands — literally thousands — of new apartments in our county. Where are the infrastructure improvements to deal with the increased demand? They will continue to make money off of us because we have no choice but to pay.

I want our local power companies to make tangible efforts to increase their ability to “provide” us with power before we are inconvenienced with rolling blackouts, before the elderly and infirm roast to death in their domiciles. This is garbage, and they know it.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
