The bumpy start to the high school football season for teams in Clark County was evident Wednesday as only one local team found its way into the top 10 of any classification  in the first Associated Press state high school football rankings.

La Center, ranked No. 10 in Class 1A, was the lone local team ranked by a statewide panel media members. The Wildcats are 1-1 after a Week loss to 2A Hockinson and a Week 2 win over 2A Woodland.

Yelm, which opened the season with routs of Camas and Union, were the top-ranked team in Class 3A.

Glacier Peak, which narrowly escaped with a 34-28 win at Camas last week, was ranked No. 2 at Class 4A.
