John Charles went 96 yards on a pass play from Jarod Oldham, highlighting Hockinson 48-6 win over R.A. Long in a 2A Greater St. Helens League game Friday in Longview.

Oldham threw three touchdown passes on the night, but the big one came in the second quarter after R.A. Long cut Hockinson’s lead to 14-3 on a Layne Oberloh field goal.

Charles lined up wide, then ran a slant into the middle of the field where Oldham hit him at the 15 and Charles ran away from Lumberjack defenders for the touchdown.

Charles would catch a 48-yard touchdown pass from Oldham later in the second quarter as the Hawks pushed their lead to 28-3.

Oldham threw touchdown passes for Carter Cameron and Drew Stockton in the third quarter.

Oldham and Charles each had 2-yard touchdown runs in the first quarter.

Hockinson (2-2, 1-1 2A GSHL) hosts Woodland next week, while R.A. Long (0-4, 0-2) plays at Columbia River.
