Riding high from their first win since 2019, the Fort Vancouver Trappers momentum was stopped Friday in a 62-22 non-league loss to St. Helens (Ore.) at Kiggins Bowl.

The Lions used a big third quarter push — scoring four touchdowns — to separate the margin after only leading 16-8 at halftime.

Fort Vancouver (1-3) kept it close by forcing three turnovers in the first half.

Trappers senior quarterback Kaeleb Cvitkovich had 55 yards rushing and a touchdown to go with 133 passing and one TD.

Evan Mendez caught four passes for 77 yards and scored on a 20-yard play in the fourth quarter.

Jordan Oldfield led Fort’s ground game with 81 yards rushing that included a 45-yard TD run in the third quarter.

St. Helens running back Skylar Bjornstrom had 120 rushing that included a 75-yard TD to open the scoring. Quarterback Tyler Tolles finish with 138 passing and three TDs.
