Gov. Jay Inslee has issued an emergency order for the plans and procedures in the Washington State Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan to be implemented to repair the Lieser Road overpass on state Highway 14.

Although still drivable, the overpass was severely damaged when a vehicle with an over-height load struck it July 7, requiring the replacement of one overpass girder and repair of another girder. The estimated cost is $2.2 million.

State agencies and departments are also directed to utilize state resources and to do everything reasonably possible to assist.

Lieser Road is a major route for ambulances headed to and from PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver.
