PUYALLUP — A driver hit two pedestrians Wednesday afternoon in Puyallup after the driver lost control of the vehicle, officials said.
The two teenage girls were transported to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries,” according to a press release from the Puyallup Police Department. The incident occurred around 1 p.m.
The Metro Cities Major Collision Response Team is investigating the incident. Initial findings show the 19-year-old driver was turning left onto West Pioneer from Fifth Street Southwest when she lost control of her vehicle, jumped the curb and drove onto the sidewalk, the news release said.
The pedestrians were traveling east, walking on the West Pioneer sidewalk when the driver hit them. The driver did not have any impairments, according to the press release. The pedestrians were Puyallup High School students.
