Construction continues on Salmon Creek’s Skyview Station.

The Hurley Development project, located at the intersection of Northeast 10th Avenue and Northeast 139th Street, has been in the works for several years but appeared to stall during the pandemic. The retail center will be home to iQ Credit Union, Chipotle, Chase Bank and MOD Pizza, according to Commercial Realty Advisors Northwest LLC.

Trader Joe’s is also rumored to be setting up shop there. The realty group’s website says there is still up to 25,000 square feet of new restaurant or retail shop space available.

Clark County is home to only one Trader Joe’s, in Vancouver’s Cascade Park neighborhood, and it is constantly busy.

In 2020, Hurley president Ryan Hurley told The Columbian he was drawn to the site partially because of its location at the intersection of Interstates 5 and 205. He also said it was an opportunity to bring more retail to the Salmon Creek and Felida areas.

The company typically announces new stores a few months before they open, Nakia Rohde, public relations manager for Trader Joe’s, told The Columbian in February.

Initially, Hurley expected the development to open in 2021.
