Hockinson School District board director Dave Olson announced his resignation Monday. Olson — a longtime member who joined the board in August 2005 — represented Hockinson’s District 3, which spans most of the district west of Northeast 182nd Avenue.

The district is now seeking applicants to replace Olson; anyone who is a U.S. citizen, a resident in District 3, a registered voter in Washington and not already employed in the district or any regional or state education bodies is eligible to apply.

Interested applicants must fill out an application on the district’s website at https://tinyurl.com/5hdjfy7k and send a letter of interest to administrative assistant Julie Paso at julie.paso@hocksd.org or in person to the district office at 17912 N.E. 159th St., Brush Prairie.

Applications and letters are due at 4 p.m. on May 5, and candidates will be interviewed at the board’s meeting on May 8. The selected candidate will serve from May 29 to Dec. 11, 2023.
