WEST MINNEHAHA — Furry Friends raised $12,000 during its annual spring auction. The “We Can Move Meow-tains” online fundraiser was held March 30 to April 2. Funds raised will go to the care of the many kittens that Furry Friends rescues. “We are so grateful for the generosity of our friends and donors,” said Diane Stevens, Furry Friends marketing director. “We currently have 57 kittens in our care, each one costing us $300 to $500 for their routine medical, care and food.”

Founded in 1999, Furry Friends is a volunteer-run organization that rescues and adopts out homeless, relinquished and abused cats. Cats are sheltered and cared for as long as it takes to find them forever homes. It provides medical exams, medications, spay/neuter services, food, and litter for up to 550 cats each year.
