It has now come to roost in the form of local property tax levies for affordable housing that for 50 years Americans have refused to vote a crumb for the side of social-democracy’s pendulum effect against capitalism’s excessive profits. And the carpetbaggers are away on yachts with the loot. I voted for the levy despite my disgust.
