Letter: Warning rings true today

First they came for the trans people, and I did not speak out because I was not a trans person; then they came for the gays, and I did not speak out because I was not gay; then they came for the migrants and the poor, and I did not speak out for I was neither.

Then they came for people of color, and I did not speak out because I was not a person of color; then they came for the pregnant ones, and I did not speak out, because I was not pregnant; and then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me.
