Vancouver Clinic announced Thursday that the Oregon-based Cascade Physicians medical practice will be joining the clinic as of Feb. 1.
“This partnership is a strong match for both Cascade Physicians and Vancouver Clinic,” Dr. Alfred Seekamp, chief medical officer at Vancouver Clinic, said in a press release. “We share the same values. We are both physician-led clinics providing expert and compassionate care.”
Cascade Physicians is comprised of eight physicians with offices in Tualatin, Gresham and Northwest Portland. The physicians will continue to see patients under the Vancouver Clinic name. A clinic in Gresham will relocate to Gresham Square at 340 N.W. Burnside Road, where another Vancouver Clinic opened a year ago. The Tualatin and Northwest Portland clinics will remain in their current locations under the new name.
“It’s an opportunity to bring this model of care across the river,” said Mark Mantei, chief executive officer for Vancouver Clinic.
Patients at Cascade Physicians will keep their current physicians with the added access to all of Vancouver Clinic’s services, including primary care, lab services, urgent care, surgical care and specialty care. The clinic is currently looking to recruit more physicians to meet the growing community need, according to Mantei.
“There is a severe shortage of primary care providers in Portland (and Vancouver) so we are trying to help relieve that,” said Mantei.
Currently Vancouver Clinic has 460 clinicians and 1,600 staff, according to the press release.
The merging of Cascade Physicians with Vancouver Clinic was a joint decision, with Cascade Physicians originally approaching Vancouver Clinic, according to Mantei.
“Our physicians support this partnership,” Dr. Jennifer Kearsley, president of Cascade Physicians, said in the release. “Vancouver Clinic provides robust resources to help us continue providing exceptional care to our patients now and in the future.”
