Evergreen Public Schools and Vancouver Public Schools to host fentanyl awareness events

Evergreen Public Schools and Vancouver Public Schools will host two fentanyl awareness seminars next month in partnership with Educational Service District 112, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Vancouver Police Department.

The first event will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 in the auditorium at Fort Vancouver High School, 5700 E. 18th St. The second event will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 9 in the auditorium at Evergreen High School, 14300 N.E. 18th St.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Bill Sofianos will lead presentations for students and families about the dangers of fentanyl. The events are open to the public, but organizers warn that the content may be difficult for younger children.

A Russian-language session will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 in Room 279 West Forum at Fort Vancouver High School.

A Spanish-language session will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 9 in the student center at Evergreen High School.
