Clark County begins update to comprehensive plan

Clark County has begun updating its Comprehensive Growth Management Plan. Last updated in 2016, the plan is a long-range policy guide for managing the county’s growth over a 20-year period.

The state’s Growth Management Act requires periodic updates to the comprehensive plan to bring it up to date with changes in state law, land use regulations, population growth and housing needs.

To begin the update process, the county will adopt a public participation plan to identify the scope of the update, when legislative action is expected and how the public can participate.

The public is invited to review and provide feedback on the draft plan with comments due by 5 p.m. Feb. 8.

After the public comment period closes, Community Planning staff will prepare a final draft of the public participation plan to present to the county council.

The document can be viewed on the project webpage at https://clark.wa.gov/community-planning/2025-update.
