Letter: Support Vancouver school levy

By Terry Cappiello, Vancouver
Published: January 25, 2023, 6:00am

As a patron of Vancouver Public Schools since 1977, I have always been supportive of the school levies. School is a place where differences are honored, cultures are celebrated, and learning occurs despite myriad changes and upheavals in society. That is why we hire the best teachers, best instructional assistants, best administrators, and attempt to elect the most capable people to the school board. This levy helps to pay for staffing and operations that are unfunded, or underfunded, by the state. These programs help our students receive the educational services they need. Please vote yes on Feb. 14.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
