Letter: Spruce up Mill Plain Boulevard

By Joyce Prigge, Vancouver

The trees along Mill Plain Boulevard and in the median, while once looking good, are now a bunch of stumps and untrimmed, overgrown trees that have never been cared for. The trees alongside the road have been trimmed by power company contractors to protect power lines with no regard to aesthetics, so now they look like the letter F with branches helter-skelter above and below the cables. So if the city can’t take care of them, why are they currently planting more trees between the sidewalk and curb? Mill Plain could be as beautiful as 63rd Street from Andresen to Hazel Dell with no trees in the median if all the stumps and trees were removed.
