Clark County COVID-19 case, new hospitalization rates drop

Clark County’s COVID-19 case rate and new hospitalization rate both fell this week in the latest data from Clark County Public Health. One new death was reported.

Public Health reported 62 new cases for the week, bringing the total to 113,807 to date and putting the seven-day rate of new cases per 100,000 people at 13.4, down from 17.4 last week. The additional death puts the total deaths to date at 1,050.

The seven day rate of new COVID-19 hospitalizations fell to 0.4 per 100,000 this week, down from 3 last week, according to Public Health data. Data showed 9 percent of hospital beds and 11.1 percent of ICU beds occupied by people with or suspected of having COVID-19.

All told, there were 11 hospital beds occupied by people with COVID-19 and 28 occupied by people suspected of having the disease. Total hospital occupancy is at 96.5 percent of all beds and 93.3 percent of all ICU beds, according to Public Health data.
