Clark County COVID-19 cases down, hospitalizations up

Clark County’s COVID-19 case rate fell and new hospitalization rate rose in the latest data from Clark County Public Health. One new death was reported.

Public Health data showed a case rate of 11.8 cases per 100,000 over seven days, down from 13.4 the previous week, and a new hospitalization rate of 0.8 per 100,000 over seven days, up from 0.4 the previous week.

There were 69 new COVID-19 cases recorded since June 1, putting the total cases to date at 113,876. The additional death puts the total local deaths from COVID-19 at 1,051 to date, according to Public Health data.

Public Health reported 8.7 percent of Clark County’s hospital beds and 4.2 percent of ICU beds were occupied by people with or suspected of having COVID-19. Eleven beds were occupied by people diagnosed with COVID-19, and 28 beds were occupied by people suspected of having the disease.
