A 34-year-old Longview man was killed Friday night after his motorcycle struck the rear of a vehicle on State Route 432 near the intersection of 26th Avenue in Longview.

Zachary C. Davis, 34, died at PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center following a crash involving his 2003 Honda motorcycle and a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander, according to a Washington State Patrol crash memo.

Both vehicles were traveling westbound on Industrial Way around 10 p.m. when the motorcycle driven by Davis rear-ended the SUV, the State Patrol said.

Davis and the motorcycle went off the roadway into a slough beyond the right shoulder. The Mitsubishi rolled and came to a rest on its top on the left shoulder. Both occupants of the SUV, who were wearing seatbelts, were not injured in the crash, the State Patrol said.

The State Patrol reported drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. Both vehicles were totaled.
