CIMARRON — The congregation of East Woods Presbyterian Church elected a new pastor on March 5. The Rev. Dr. Joyce Martin Emery will begin serving on March 13. Joyce served as the senior pastor at Salmon Creek United Methodist Church from 2013 to 2018. From there, she went to serve as an interim associate pastor at the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C., and at Bethany Presbyterian in Tacoma. Joyce and her husband, Dave Emery, are a clergy couple who have raised four children and enjoy a rich life in ministry and service. East Woods Presbyterian is a part of the Family Promise network in Clark County, a supporter of Friends of the Carpenter, and CEDEPCA — a Central American educational effort to train up church leaders. The congregation began in 1993 and claimed the name on June 11, 2000. Currently the congregation hosts church partners Unity Family Church and God Information Church.
