Prep highlights: Elias Estrada comes up big in 7th as Hudson’s Bay beats Ridgefield in baseball

Elias Estrada singled home the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh then sealed the victory with a strikeout in the bottom of the seventh as Hudson’s Bay beat Ridgefield 3-2 in 2A Greater St. Helens League baseball game Monday at Ridgefield.

With two outs in the top of the seventh, Estrada singled to center, scoring Jaylen Appelt with the go-ahead run.

Chanz Flores was one strike away from getting the complete-game win in the bottom of the seventh. But after the Spudders put runners on second and third with two outs, Estrada was called in relief. He struck out the only batter he faced to secure the win.

Estrada was 2 for 4 with two RBI, and Flores struck out nine over 6.2 innings as Hudson’s Bay improved to 6-0 on the season.

Jaila Ellis, Heritage softball, went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double and two RBI in a 7-4 win over Camas.

Graham Learing, Hockinson baseball, pitched six innings of no-hit ball, striking out nine and walking two in a 7-0 win over Fort Vancouver.

Seyah Lindersmith, Battle Ground softball, went 2 ofr 3 with a home run, a double and four RBI in a 12-0 win over Kelso.

Reese Rylander and Evi Wenger, Columbia River girls tennis, stepped into the No. 1 doubles slot and won a hard-fought match 6-4, 6-4 to lift the Rapids to a 6-0 victory.

Brendan Boyer, Skyview baseball, allowed just one hit over five scoreless innings of work, striking out six as the Storm beat Evergreen 8-0.

Zeke Smith, Kelso baseball, went 3 for 3 with five RBI as the Hilanders beat Heritage 12-0.

Brayden Petrowski, Prairie baseball, went 2 for 5 and drove in the game-tying run in the bottom of the seventh. Then Noah Severson scored on a wild pitch, completing a six-run seventh for the Falcons as they rallied past Mountain View 12-11.

Chris Parkin, Columbia River baseball, went 2 for 2 with a double and three RBI as the Rapids beat Woodland 14-0.

Dossen Morrow, Mark Morris baseball, went 2 for 2 with two home runs, four runs scored and five RBI in a 21-1 win over Washougal.

Teddy Wiesczorek, Seton Catholic baseball, went 3 for 4 with two runs, two stolen bases and an RBI in a 14-8 win over Kalama.

Gabi Silveria, Woodland softball, went 4 for 4 with three runs, two doubles and three RBI in a 7-5 win over Columbia River.

MJ Westmoreland, Hudson’s Bay softball, went 2 for 3 with three runs and four RBI in a 15-0 win over Fort Vancouver.

Jade Gruher, Union girls golf, shot an even-par 36 at Camas Meadows to lead the Titans over Woodland.
