In what has become a rite of any normal spring, the Camas girls golf team claimed another Titan Cup on Monday at Camas Meadows.

It’s the sixth consecutive time Camas has won the annual Ryder Cup-style tournament. The Papermakers had won four straight before the COVID pandemic wiped out the event in 2020 and 2021.

Monday, Camas beat Union 5-1 in the championship match. Jacinda Lee, Susannah Gillespie, Rachel Rerick, Ella Kim and Morgan Schlosinger each earned convincing match-play victories.

The only match Camas didn’t win was a titanic clash between two of the state’s top girls high school golfers. Reigning Class 4A state champion Jade Gruher eked out a 1 up win over Jasmine Chen, who placed fifth in state.

Woodland beat Mountain View 4-2 in the third-place match.
