Teagan Blankenship went 3 for 4 with two RBI and Mckynzi Guinn kept Elma bats in check, leading the Columbia-White Salmon softball team to a 6-2 win over the Eagles and securing a 1A state berth for the Bruins.

Columbia rallied back through the consolation bracket to capture third place at the 1A district tournament in Centralia with two wins on Saturday.

Columbia broke open a 2-1 game with a five-run sixth to beat Stevenson 7-2 in an loser-out game.

Doubles by Maggie Bryan and Macee Barners plus an RBI single by Sydney Aman sparked the rally.

Cayden Hulsey-Bible had a triple and home run for Stevenson.

Then against Elma, an RBI single by Blankenship and a two-run error gave the Bruins a 3-1 lead in the third inning.

Guinn made sure that stood up, scattering eight hits over seven innings of pitching.

Maggie Bryan went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Josie Dickey went 2 for 4 with a double.

Also Saturday, Ellie Forster went 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI for Seton Catholic in an 18-3 loss to Elma in a loser-out game.
