CAMAS — The group 100 Women Who Care Clark County recently expanded to welcome members of the former Vancouver Women for Good giving circle to create a combined group of philanthropic women.

“We are delighted that our group of caring women continues to expand, and all members remain committed to supporting our local community,” said 100 Women Advisory board chair, Rebecca Zent.

At the second quarter meeting of 100 Women, held May 10 at Salud! Wine Bar, Camas, a total of $9,500 was presented to local nonprofits StillMama and Fosterful.

Executive Director Doreen Korba accepted the donation on behalf of StillMama, an organization dedicated to providing support and healing for mothers after the loss of a baby. The group donates bereavement boxes to hospitals to give to families who have lost a baby and offers a community of support groups to help families grieve and rebuild their lives after loss.

The donation for Fosterful was accepted by Executive Director Sarah Desjarlais. Fosterful is a community of qualified volunteers who partner with child welfare officers to provide a nurturing environment and basic necessities for children entering foster care. Their goal is to minimize trauma as children transition into foster care placement.

Founded in 2018, 100 Women Who Care Clark County is a giving circle that meets four times a year and has donated close to $100,000 to local nonprofits since inception. Members who attend are eligible to nominate local nonprofits to be considered for the group’s donation. Members commit to a quarterly $100 donation to the charity voted upon by the members at each meeting.
