Wednesday’s Game: Ridgefield Raptors 7, Walla Walla Sweets 5 (click here for boxscore)

Recap: The Raptors (31-22 overall, 21-6 2nd half) and Sweets (20-33, 11-16) posted the same final score in game 2 as in game 1 of the series at Borleske Stadium, but this time Ridgefield came out on top. Ten Raptors came to the plate in a six-run fourth inning with the big blow coming from Julian Nunez (Pepperdine) in the form of a three-run single. Walla Walla made it interesting in the ninth by scoring three runs, but the Raptors’ Dylan Richardson (Edmonds CC) got a ground-ball final out to get the save.

Raptors bats: Jovan Camacho (West Texas A&M) had three of Ridgefield’s 11 hits and drove in a run. … Colby Wallace (CS Fullerton) hit his third home run of the season, a leadoff blast in the seventh inning, and was 2 for 5 with two runs. … Dasan Harris (Oklahoma) hit his second triple in as many games.

Raptors arms: Jake Geiss (Loyola Marymount) picked up the win with 3 1/3 innings of relief. He allowed two runs on five hits with a strikeout and a walk. … Starter Blake Hammond went the first two innings with two strikeouts and two walks. … Ryan McClaskey (Lower Columbia / Camas HS) also pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed three runs on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks.

Up next: The Raptors finish the regular season at Walla Walla with a 7:05 p.m. game Thursday. Ridgefield, which has already clinched a postseason berth, is virtually tied with the Portland Pickles for the South Division second half title and would take the title with a win and a Portland loss to Kelowna on Thursday.
